Our researcher among the „Lwów PR”!

Dr Dominik Lewiński from the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication was awarded the PR Lwów2025 by the Polish Public Relations Association Chapter in the Educator/Researcher category on 15 March 2026.

The Chapter valued his consistent approach of academic reflection with communication practice, as well as his approach to education, in which developing critical thinking and an understanding of the principles of communication is just as important as developing practical skills.

Dr Dominik Lewiński is a media scholar and a social communication researcher. His main research interests include systems theory, discourse theory, media theory, and radical constructivism. His teaching and practice-oriented interests focus mainly on image communication (cultural branding, PR), creativity, and communication strategies. Outside academia, he is a fan of extreme death metal and contemporary Polish poetry.

In his work as a teacher, he consistently focuses not only on teaching students how to use the tools needed to work on brands and advertising campaigns, but above all on the development of creative thinking. From his point of view, it is the creative process that lies at the heart of all successful marketing and communication activities. He does not provide students with ready-made answers or abstract theories; instead, he guides them towards formulating the right questions on their own and discovering the logic behind effective communication. The quality of his daily work is recognised both by his students and by the academic community. He has received the title of Lecturer of the Decade and several Rector’s awards, and was also recognised as “Mug for the Lecturer” for his unconventional approach to understanding the world.

As he explains what the award means to him: “I have no idea. Awards are supposed to bring joy. And I do. I feel that teaching, which is often underappreciated, nevertheless has its own particular value. And it is not measured by the length of one’s funeral procession. I am surprised that somewhere across Poland, in distant Warsaw, my former students are getting together, remembering the path we shared and deciding to come together to honour me. They are now writing very kind things about me online—various tributes and words of praise. That’s truly wonderful! But honestly, I work for these young people and put all my energy into it. I’m simply lucky.”

Warm congratulations!
