
Podcast „Łatwo powiedzieć. Tomasz Piekot” nominated
The podcast “Łatwo powiedzieć. Tomasz Piekot” has been nominated for the Grand Press 2025 Award in the category “Specialist Journalism and New Forms of Journalism.” The author of the podcast is dr hab. Tomasz Piekot, linguist and Head of the Centre for Plain Polish at the University of Wrocław.
The podcast presents the mechanisms of contemporary communication and the linguistic phenomena of everyday life in an accessible and engaging manner, ranging from expressive swearing and the widespread use of diminutives to debates surrounding controversial or contested words.
Dr hab. Tomasz Piekot leads the Centre for Plain Polish at the University of Wrocław, where he develops the Polish adaptation of the international plain language standard known as “prosta polszczyzna”. Since 2017, together with his team, he has been awarding Plain Language Certificates, including for legal documents. He is the author of numerous books and practical guides on effective writing and has several years of experience in simplifying communication for banks, insurance companies, and public institutions. His work also includes the simplification of legal documents carried out in cooperation with both in-house legal teams and external law firms.
The announcement of the winners and the award ceremony will take place on Sunday, 14 December at 8:00 pm, as part of the gala of the 29th edition of the Grand Press Competition.
