Polish Congress of Political Science kicks off
The 5th Polish Congress of Political Science begins today at the University of Wrocław. This year’s sessions will be held under the motto “Politics of (Dis) Order.” The event is organised by the University of Wrocław, the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Political Science Association.
Congress participants will attempt to diagnose the world of politics in cycles that can be observed and analysed, as well as to diagnose the causes of chaos and the erosion of the foundations of order in contemporary politics. Among the topics addressed, there will be references to the role of generational change, technological progress, leadership crisis, the crisis of the political class, shifting social priorities, fluctuating party systems, as well as global challenges such as the disintegration of the international order and regional systems, migration crises and new state-building processes in various parts of the world.
The topic of broadly understood democracy and the condition of democratic systems, as well as the erosion of public debate, authorities and political mechanisms, will appear in discussions.
The events organised during the 5th Political Science Congress will take place at four locations: the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the UWr – Building D and Building A, the Institute of English Studies of the UWr and the Library of the University of Wrocław. Detailed information on the congress, which will run until 23 September, can be found on the website.
