
Presentation of the volume “The soul glides in the glow of epochs…”
On Tuesday, 21 June 2022, the Pan Tadeusz Museum hosted a presentation of the volume “Dusza szybuje w poświacie epok… / Душа летить у посвіті епох…” (University of Wrocław Publishing House 2021), edited by Agnieszka Matusiak and Ludmila Tarnashynska. The volume is devoted to the works of Lina Kostenko (b. 1930), the most distinguished Ukrainian poet of the second half of the 20th – early 21st centuries, and one of the most important artists of post-communist Europe. Lina Kostenko addressed the participants of the meeting with a letter, in which she emphasized her ties with Poland (text enclosed – Polish and Ukrainian only).
The special guest of the meeting was prof. Alois Woldan, a doctor honoris causa of the University of Wrocław (University of Vienna), translator and populariser of Lina Kostenko’s works in the German-speaking cultural sphere.
The participants were also joined via zoom by the Director of the Taras Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kiev, professor Mykola Zulynski and professor Ludmyla Tarnashynska, Head of the Centre for the Study of the Output of the Sixties Generation at the same Institute, as well as professor Oxana Pachlovska of the Sapienza University in Rome, Lina Kostenko’s daughter.
The publication was prepared in cooperation with the Centre for Transcultural Posttotalitarian Studies of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Wrocław and the Centre for the Study of the Output of the Sixties Generation at the Taras Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kiev.
