
Prof. Jolanta Zakrzewska-Czerwińska in the Biotechnology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences
During the second plenary meeting of the Biotechnology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, a by-election was held to select three new members/members of the Committee – specialists in biotechnology. The Committee was composed of three members, including prof. dr hab. Jolanta Zakrzewska-Czerwińska, a RDN member and head of the Department of Molecular Microbiology at the Faculty of Biotechnology at the University of Wrocław.
Her research focuses on the molecular basis of the bacterial cell cycle and the regulation of gene expression. She has received numerous awards and honors for her research, including the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Fellowship, the Morison Rogos Award of the American Society of Microbiology, the MISTRZ professorship subsidy from the Polish Science Foundation, and the Golden Cross of Merit in 2011 – Year of Maria Skłodowska-Curie.
