Prof Randall Auxier’s courses as part of IDUB Visiting Professors Programme

The Institute of Philosophy cordially invites you to the courses that Professor Randall Auxier (Southern Illinois University Carbondale) is teaching at the University of Wroclaw in the winter semester. Professor Auxier is a guest of our university as part of the IDUB Visiting Professors Programme.

Professor Auxier’s research interests include symbol theory and semiotics, philosophy of communication, history of rhetoric, history of philosophy and popular culture. He has published books such as Time, Will and Purpose: Living Ideas from the Philosophy of Josiah Royce, author (Open Court, 2013), Metaphysical Graffiti: Deep Cuts in the Philosophy of Rock (Open Court, 2017) and The Quantum of Explanation: Whitehead’s Radical Empiricism (together with G.L. Herstein; Routledge 2017). Last year, he gave two lectures at the University of Wrocław as part of the “American Philosophy and Culture” series organised by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and Philosophy of Culture and the Institute of Philosophy.

Professor Auxier will teach the following courses at the following locations between October and December:

– Institute of English Studies, University of Wrocław (ul. Kuźnicza 22, room 11) American Philosophy and Culture, Literature and Philosophy,

– Wrocław Academic Centre (Rynek 13) Dark Communication.
