Prof. Wojciech Głowala passed away
With deep regret, we inform you that prof. dr hab. WOJCIECH GŁOWALA passed away on 6 August at the age of 83.
Long-time researcher at the Institute of Polish Studies of the University of Wrocław and the Ossolineum, director of the Institute of Polish Studies in 1987-1989, head of the Department of Literary Theory, member of the editorial board of Pamiętnik Literacki, theoretician of literature and literary criticism, prominent researcher and publisher of the writings of Karol Irzykowski, author of the books ‘Sentymentalizm i pedanteria. O systemie estetycznym Karola Irzykowskiego’ and “Młodopolska wyobraźnia metakrytyczna”, as well as numerous dissertations and articles on literary studies. In the Deceased, we lose an excellent teacher, an inspirer and mentor to several generations of scholars and a good colleague.
Funeral ceremonies will commence on Saturday 10.08.2024 at 13.30, in Sławków (Silesian Voivodeship).
