Watch the student “Animal Farm”

International group of students from the University of Wrocław invites for ‘Animal Farm’- a play inspired by George Orwell’s novel.

The show performed by Azdak Garden Theater Group will take place on 23rd and 26th of March 2024 at 7 pm in Grotowski Insitute – Laboratory Theatre Hall, Rynek-Ratusz 27, Wrocław. The play is based on a famous novel of George Orwell and has been adapted by Georgian playwriter Aureliano Buendia.

It is a satirical and allegorical play presented with modern visions, elements of black humor, and full of allusions to the contemporary world. It presents the process of man becoming a dictator and the behavior of  masses about this process. The troupe aims to revive a classic literary work and present problems in a modern light.

What is universal justice, in what cases do we achieve the judge that will bring good for everyone, what is the principle of equality, and how it is achieved?… Viewers will see the manufacturing, cultivation, and transformation of animals into a production facility, which is broadcasted daily on television and social networks. We will see revolution, war, and the rise of democracy in Animal Farm. The staging will be interactive, and the audience will feel like a participant in these extraordinary processes.

A young group of students from different countries (Georgia, Poland, Ukraine, Turkey , Russia, Peru, Zimbabwe, Belarus) tells you about their path to freedom and shows the audience how they continue to fight today.
