“Phosphors are inorganic materials, the special feature of which is the ability to emit light under the influence of external stimulations that introduce an appropriate excess of energy into the system. We meet phosphors in many applications, like in new technologies that each of us uses. Televisions, various types of displays, mobile phones, and the so-called LED flashlights. They are also used in lighting, e.g., in our homes, offices, or in modern cars, e.g., LED headlamps and their more advanced form – matrix headlamps, or – even less frequently used today – laser headlamps. In these solutions, I use luminescence and phosphors. “
