Rodbuk Research Data Repository at the University of Wrocław
The University of Wrocław joined the Rodbuk Interdisciplinary Research Data Repository. It will soon be possible to make the Repository available to UWr employees.
What is Rodbuk? It is a tool that enables academics, doctoral students and students, especially those carrying out research projects, to deposit, archive and share data from different disciplines and in different formats. Each dataset that is deposited in the repository will be automatically assigned a permanent digital DOI (Digital Object Identifier) as required by the project’s funding institutions.
In the Rodbuk Repository, the University of Wrocław has its own separate instance with collections assigned to individual Faculties and Research Units. The instance has been linked to the UWr employee login system and is fully functional, and the use of the Repository for UWr users is free of charge – explains prof. dr hab. Alina Bieńko, the Rector’s Representative for Open Access.
At the end of March, the Data Stewards appointed by the Rector will organise training on the procedure for depositing data for project managers and all those interested. It is also worth recalling that the Data Stewards provide support in the preparation and validation of the data management plan for research projects.
On the other hand, the OA Coordinators appointed at the Faculties provide assistance in matters of choosing a journal in the OA formula or a licence in accordance with the requirements of the funding institution.
In the next steps, we are also planning to integrate the RODBUK Repository with Omega, which is a knowledge base on the achievements of UWr scientists – announces prof. Alina Bieńko, the Rector’s Representative for Open Access.
