Scientific Associations Fair 2025
Thirty-three research groups, six awards with a total value of PLN 13,000, and countless activities, exhibits, mini-games, quizzes and attractions – all of this could be experienced on 4 December, when the everyday greyness and autumn drizzle were swept away by the largest and most colourful event dedicated to the student research groups of the University of Wrocław: the Scientific Associations Fair.
This year’s edition of the Fair was exceptional, as for the first time it occupied two halls of the Student and Doctoral Activity Centre – the columned hall and the conference hall. It was also the first time that two Audience Awards were presented: one in the humanities category and one in the sciences category. As is customary, the Fair was honoured by the presence of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Dr Łukasz Prus, and the Head of the Office for Student and Doctoral Activity Support, dr Patrycja Cicha.
Students affiliated with the research groups, often dressed in impressive and thematic costumes, prepared numerous colourful stands where visitors could take part in a variety of games and tests, admire demonstrations and experiments, or simply engage in interesting conversations about the activities of individual groups.
The Fair also featured a competition for the best stands. The judging panel, with its discerning eye, awarded the following prizes:
- First prize (PLN 4,000): Student Scientific Association of Geologists
- Second prize (PLN 3,000): Student Scientific Association of Russian Studies WroSlawianie
- Third prize (PLN 2,000): ex aequo – Student Scientific Association of Archaeologists and the Student Scientific Association of Plant Physiology PLANTIS
Visitors were also able to vote in the Audience Award competition. The following groups won the public’s favour:
- Humanities category (PLN 1,000): East Asia Scientific Circle
- Sciences category (PLN 1,000): Student Scientific Association of Biotechnologists “Przybysz”
