Spatial management students from the University of Wrocław at Tsinghua University in Beijing

From 22 April to 7 May 2025, eight students of Spatial Management from the Institute of Geography and Regional Development at the University of Wrocław are taking part in a study visit to Tsinghua University in Beijing – ranked the best university in China according to the Shanghai Ranking, and 22nd globally.

The academic supervisor of the project is Dr hab. Alicja Krzemińska. The aim of the project is to deepen the knowledge and skills acquired during the students’ studies, particularly in the area of green-blue infrastructure (GBI) in megacities.

The project combines field research with an intensive academic course, allowing students not only to expand their theoretical understanding but also to develop social competencies through exposure to a different culture and new perspectives on spatial planning in urban environments.

A key focus of the project is interdisciplinarity – integrating ecological, urban, and social dimensions – enabling students to better grasp the complexity of modern urban challenges and prepare to address them effectively.

The visit is made possible thanks to the support of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) as part of the PROM Programme.

The PROM Programme – short-term academic exchange – is financed by the European Union under the project titled “Krótkookresowa wymiana akademicka sposobem na podniesienie jakości kształcenia w instytucjach szkolnictwa wyższego i nauki” (eng. “Short-term academic exchange as a means of improving the quality of education in higher education and science institutions”), project number FERS.01.05-IP.08-0218/23. (FERS Projects)

The project is coordinated by the International Relations Office of the University of Wrocław.
