
Start of Scholarship Programme Novasome
Novasome R&D Centre in cooperation with the University of Wrocław launched a scholarship programme.
Support for the scientific and business fields and increase in the development of research-development and scientific fields – that is the purpose of the cooperation between Novasome R&D Centre and the University of Wrocław. The launch of the new scholarship programme is envisioned as a mean of helping of reaching this purpose. The winner of the 2022/23 academic year edition is one of the students of the Faculty of Chemistry of UWr, Kornelia Pajączkowska. The official announcement of the results and presentation of the diploma was held on the 26th of January, 2023 in the main building of the University.
Long-term cooperation between Novasome R&D Centre and the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Wrocław was expanded in the May of 2022 by additional elements related to the supporting of educational, advisory-consulting and other projects.
“Joint initiatives realized between Novasome R&D Centre and Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Wrocław aim to establish an environment that supports the cooperation between the scientific field and business. Valuable elements of this cooperation are actions, which help in the practical introduction of the results of R&D research projects and their distribution, joint participation in scientific conferences, mutual support in the attainment of the newest scientific and technical achievements, and joint implementation of master’s thesis and implementation doctorates” – says Professor Sławomir Brzeski, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Wrocław.
As a part of this cooperation, Novasome R&D Centre of Hasco Group launched a scholarship programme eligible for the students of the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Wrocław that finished the 2nd year of undergraduate studies. Scholarship for the academic year of 2022/23 was granted to a 2nd year student, the theme of which was the organic synthesis of compounds implementable in the pharmaceutics or chemical industry.
“We are delighted to help students, who want to gain work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The aim of our cooperation with the University of Wroclaw is not only the motivation of the students to focus on self-development, but also the emphasis on satisfactory academic grades. The programme is going to allow Beneficiaries to conduct joint research as part of the diploma thesis” – says dr Maciej Barys, Operation Director of Novasome R&D Centre. After the scholarship programme, beneficiaries will be offered an opportunity to start paid internship and opportunity to work in the company, which renders services in the fields of research-development, pharmaceutics, chemistry and cosmetics industry.
Kornelia Pajączkowska is a 2nd year student of the second-cycle Chemistry and Forensic Toxicology studies at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Wrocław. She actively participates in the academic life by being a member of the “Jeż” Scientific Association of Chemists. In the June of 2022 she was a member of the organizing committee of the 6th edition of a conference “Konferencja Młodych Chemików Sądowych”. She also participated in the implementation of the winning project “Jest chemia, jest chill” as a part of the Academic Open Budget 2022. Moreover, she values self-development, an example of which is her participation in the Mentorship Programme in the year 2022/23 as a mentee. She was proclaimed the winner of the first edition Scholarship Programme Novasome and will focus on synthesis of active substance as one of the stages of the desired independence from the Asian market and its supply of active substances. Additionally, she will attempt to extract cocrystal of active substance with different substances, which could be implemented in pharmaceutics.
