Summer School of Quantitative Methods

The Summer School of Quantitative Methods for doctoral students organised by the staff of the Quantitative Research Centre: dr Małgorzata Madej, dr Piotr Sula and dr Kamil Błaszczyński is behind us. The Summer School was organised within the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme.

Participants represented the following research centres: University of Pisa, (Italy), Corvinus University of Budapest (Hungary), University of Szeged (Hungary), University of Hradec Králové, (Czechia), University of Ljublana (Slovenia), University of Dresden (Germany), University of Wrocław (Poland).

Among the lecturers, there were Dr Wojciech Witkowski (University of Wrocław), Dr Michał Kotnarowski (The Polish Academy of Sciences). There was also a seminar, when Dr hab. Maciej Górecki (University of Warsaw), Prof. Jarosław Flis (Jagiellonian University), Dr Kamil Marcinkiewicz (University of Hamburg) and Dr Tomasz Woźniakowski shared good practices in publishing with the participants.

The programme for this year’s Summer School included: lectures concerning quantitative methods in social sciences, workshops concerning application of statistics in political science, introduction to R software with workshops and discussions on actual studies and analyses.  Before the workshops at the Institute of Political Science, there were also online classes held.

The event was funded by Erasmus+ as part of the Blended Intensive Programme, the first project of its type realized at the University of Wrocław.
