Sur-Place Scholarship awarded to UWr student
Jakub Stachurka, a fourth-year student at the UWr College for Interdisciplinary Individual Studies, has joined the ranks of Sur-Place Scholarship (Sur Place Stipendium) laureates. The Scholarship is awarded by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
The Foundation was looking for students who, aside from having an above-average academic record and an existing publishing history, would involve themselves in social causes, among others. The past activities of the candidates were to demonstrate their moral backbone (based in Christian democracy principles) and their identification with values like liberal democracy, social market economy, the rule of law and social justice. During a later stage of the recruitment process the applicants had to prove their knowledge of the current political situation in Germany, the challenges of Polish-German relations and the matter of international developments.
Besides receiving monthly financial support, the Scholarship’s laureates will get involved in projects and programs organized by the Foundation, and will take part in conferences and seminars.
The Konrad Adenauer Foundation is a German political foundation affiliated with the CDU party.
