ŚWIATŁOGRÓD IS BACK!
On December 9, the winter attraction of the Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław opens
This year in ‘Światłogród’ (Light garden), energy-saving technologies, live music, outdoor games and charity events will be held. And what visitors like the most – the magical atmosphere, mysteries and surprises, i.e. an incredible spectacle combining the power of light and the beauty of nature.
The Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław is commencing the next edition of light shows as part of the ‘Światłogród’ project. From December 9, from 5 pm during winter weekends, we invite the residents of Wrocław for walks and admiration of the unique light spectacle enriched with new elements. Another novelty is the abandonment of lasers and the focus on LED technology, which means that the shows consume little electricity. For that reason, the organisers decided to lower the ticket prices.
Social responsibility in times of the energy crisis is one of the priorities of the units of the University of Wrocław. In the botanical garden, this means choosing energy-saving technologies and helping those most at risk of energy poverty – the elderly, single parents and refugees. Therefore, on December 17, the Saturday following St. Lucia’s Day (December 13), which is celebrated in Scandinavia as the Festival of Light, we organise the ‘Światłogród Pomaga’ campaign. This weekend we want to share the light – also the symbolic one – the light of empathy and mutual support.
We invite you to Światłogród!
