„Szepty ziemi” – exhibition at the Geological Museum

We are pleased to announce the forthcoming opening of an exhibition of works by the Wrocław-based ceramic artist Magdalena Maros, created as part of a scholarship awarded by the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship under the project “Szepty Ziemi”.

Drawing inspiration from the geological heritage of Lower Silesia, the artist recognised our Geological Museum as the most fitting venue to present the outcomes of her work. As she explains herself: The collected raw materials come both from abandoned workings and from cooperation with local mines. Each fragment of material retains its place of origin and its geological identity. The act of gathering them has an archival character – it is an attempt to restore a voice to matter that, within the industrial circulation, remains anonymous.

The exhibition opening (private view) will take place on Wednesday, 17 December, at 5.00 pm.
