Take a lesson in biology by prof. Łukasz Opaliński
Did you know that the human body is made up of 37 trillion cells! We can divide them into 200 equal types! Every day, 70 billion cells die and, on the other hand, the same number regenerate. On top of this, we have 3 kilograms of foreign cells inside us (e.g. bacteria in our intestines) – and numerically these bacterial cells are more than our own. That’s interesting, isn’t it?
We would like to invite you to a lecture by this year’s winner of the National Science Centre Award, prof. Łukasz Opaliński from the Faculty of Biotechnology of the University of Wrocław. The lecture was broadcast online on 28 November 2023 on the YouTube channel of the Copernicus Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies. The meeting was organised as part of a series entitled „Nauka w Centrum”.
Lecture entitled „Multiwalentność w biologii i biomedycynie: jak możemy wykorzystać naturalnie zachodzące procesy komórkowe do opracowania nowatorskich terapii przeciwnowotworowych” can be watched here:
