The 26th edition of The POLITYKA Research Awards
For the twenty-sixth time the POLITYKA Weekly Foundation invites young researchers to apply for the POLITYKA Research Awards.
From 1 April to 14 June 2026 the POLITYKA Weekly Foundation accepts applications for the 26th edition of The POLITYKA Research Awards. Researchers who want to apply need to fill out the application form available at the competition website. The names of fifteen finalists will be revealed in the newspaper in mid-September. The winners will be announced in October.
Winners of the awards are decided by two judging panels. The first stage panel (The Academic Panel) comprises renowned professors and experts for each area of scientific research who will conduct a thorough selection of the applications and present their final candidates.
The finalists chosen by the first stage judging panel will then be assessed by the second stage panel (The Public Panel) which includes people known for their public engagement, as well as broad perspectives on social issues. The second stage panel will choose five researchers whose work they regard as not only practically valuable, but also meaningful for civilisation advancement and intellectual progress.
Together the two panels select fifteen finalists from hundreds of applications in five research areas: humanities, social-economic science, hard sciences, life sciences, and IT. The 2026 winners will receive Research Awards of fifteen thousand PLN and an interview in the POLITYKA weekly newspaper. The remaining ten will receive finalist prizes of five thousand PLN.
All information on the program, the judging panels, and the application forms are available on the competition website.
