The effects of the war in Ukraine – seminar at the UWr
A seminar on the social consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine will be held on Thursday, 19 January in the Senate Room of the University of Wrocław. The event is co-organised by Doctrine and Training Centre of the Polish Armed Forces – a special unit of the Ministry of National Defence reporting directly to the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces – and the General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces in Wrocław.
University of Wrocław, in cooperation with scientific and social partners, is creating a cross-political space for interdisciplinary expert debate on the most important issues from the perspective of the current and forecasted changes affecting our society because of the war.
With the contribution of the rectors of two universities, UWr and AWL, the seminar will be opened by Chief of Staff of the Polish Army gen. dyw. dr inż. Karol Dymanowski. Presenters from several academic centres (UW, KUL, UMK, UWr) include dr hab. Paweł Hut, Director of the Department of Education, Culture and Heritage at the Ministry of National Defence, and Valerii Filippov, Advisor to the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights. A presentation on the City of Wrocław’s help for war refugees was also scheduled.
In July last year, the University of Wrocław signed an agreement on the exchange of research, educational and organisational experience with the Doctrine and Training Centre of the Polish Armed Forces. As a result, representatives of the university took part in the “GlobState22” international conference and the “Szkoleniowiec-22” – training and methodology conference of the Armed Forces training division.We invite you to participate in the seminar The social impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine online after prior registration.
