The University of Wrocław participated in the 31st Grand Finale of WOŚP (the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity)!

In total, the auctions raised 4635 Polish zlotys!

The University of Wrocław offered 5 charity auctions for the benefit of WOŚP on Allegro. The biggest blockbuster was a sweatshirt with the university’s logo on it, which eventually was sold for 1525 Polish złotys. Separately, a set of UWr gadgets itself was auctioned, including a mug, flash drive, T-shirt, notebooks, pens, socks, and much more!

His Magnificence the Rector of the University of Wrocław, prof. Robert Olkiewicz, donated a 3 cm x 5 cm workshop print by Sławomir Gejderich, made using the dry needle technique, for a charity auction. The artwork depicts the main building of the University of Wrocław. The graphic is a beautiful souvenir for lovers of Wrocław and the University of Wrocław.

A treat for lovers of baroque interiors was the auction of a professional photo shoot in the Aula Leopoldina. The auction collected the second-highest sum after the sweatshirt – 1325 Polish zlotys! The Aula Leopoldina is the most representative interior of the University of Wrocław. So the best thing to do is to share it with you, especially for a generous cause!

The icing on the cake of our auctions were a field hockey stick and puck autographed by the world’s most famous Polish field hockey player Mariusz Czerkawski! These items were donated to the auction for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity by our Faculty of Chemistry scientist, prof. Kazimierz Orzechowski. Prof. Orzechowski received these gifts from Mariusz Czerkawski on the occasion of the Lower Silesian Science Festival (DFN). The gentlemen even played a match, and as professor told us – it was not an easy game!

Thank you for your support!’
