TUTORING SYMPOSIUM at the University of Wrocław
Second edition of the University Tutoring Symposium in Wrocław
PROCESS
Tutoring is a process based on mutual cooperation and commitment – a process that requires time and adequate reserves of energy. A process that requires proper preparation.
There is no textbook version of tutoring, the Tutoring Academy does not give ready-made solutions, but offers tools to develop concrete solutions.
PROGRAMME of this year’s edition of the Tutoring Symposium at the University of Wrocław
Developing, acquiring knowledge and skills, defining values and priorities, setting goals and making decisions and taking responsibility for them requires coaching and support from both tutor and tutor. Tutoring is a challenge for long-distance runners. The question arises whether everyone can run this marathon. This and many other topics will be touched upon in his lecture during this year’s edition of the TUTORING SYMPOSIUM at the University of Wrocław by prof. Jerzy Andrzej Żołądź – tutor and co-creator of Adam Małysz’s success, an expert in exercise physiology, sport and human adaptation to physical exertion.
Good and effective communication, a clear message is the key to successful collaboration in tutoring and at the same time the biggest challenge. Socio-communicative and organisational competences are extremely important in this relationship. Mr Paweł Jaskólski – master of archaeology, passionate about Teutonic castles and populariser of science – will prove that science can be communicated effectively. During the workshop entitled ‘Simple experiments in science communication and tutoring’, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on this:
- how simplifications affect the understanding of complex issues in science education and popularisation
- whether simplifications are the key to understanding or a trap that leads to misrepresentations and wrong conclusions,
- what tools and experiments enable easier navigation in the world of science.
TIMETABLE for the Tutoring Symposium:
When: 17 October 2024 (Thursday)
Where: Sala Oratorium Marianum, Plac Uniwersytecki 1, 50 – 137 Wrocław
9.00-13.30 – mgr Pawel Jaskólski (Heweliusze Nauki): workshop on effective communication in science and tutoring entitled: ‘Simple experiments in science communication and tutoring’;
13.30 – 14.50 – lunch break;

The congress aims to promote Polish science in France, disseminate the achievements of Polish and French research groups and promote international cooperation.
