University Day 2022 – photo report

During the University Day on 15 November in the Aula Leopoldina, awards and distinctions were presented.

The President of the Republic of Poland, at the request of the Minister of Education and Science, awarded 6 Silver and 3 Bronze Crosses of Merit and 20 Medals for Long Service to employees of the University of Wrocław in 2022: 15 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze. A number of employees have also been honoured with departmental awards from the Minister of Education and Science for their special contribution to education and upbringing – this year 8 Medals of the Commission of National Education have been awarded. Today’s ceremony will also see the presentation of outstanding awards that were not awarded in previous years, including the Gold Medal “For services to national defence” and the Bronze Medal for Meritorious Service to Culture – Gloria Artis.

The Minister of National Defence awarded Colonel Marek Sielski, Head of the Defence Affairs Department, with the Gold Medal “For Merits to National Defence”.
The Minister of Culture and National Heritage awarded dr Łukasz Krzywka, a retired employee of the Institute of Art History, for many years the Rector’s representative for the conservation of monuments, with the Bronze Medal “Meritorious for Culture – Gloria Artis”.
