
University of Wrocław in 2025 QS Europe University Rankings
The University of Wrocław has been ranked 306th in the 2025 QS Europe University Ranking. In Central and Eastern Europe, we are ranked 22nd among all universities. The ranking shows that a strong feature of the University of Wrocław is the quality of teaching and international exchanges.
Among Polish universities, we are in fourth place, and among Polish universities in sixth place. The ranking includes 32 universities from our country.
The ETH Zurich Swiss Federal Institute of Technology University of Oxford rose to first place in the ranking, followed by Imperial Collage London in second and the University of Oxford in third.
The Czech Republic’s Charles University and the University of Warsaw are the only universities from the Central and Eastern European countries that can boast places in the top 100 – Charles University ranked 79th and the University of Warsaw 96th.
The ranking shows that the University of Wrocław’s strengths lie in the quality of its teaching and international exchanges. The strongest indicator is the Faculty Student Ratio, i.e. the ratio of the number of academic teachers to the number of students. Taking this indicator into account, we are ranked 137th in Europe and among the universities of Central and Eastern Europe we are in the top 30.
The second best indicator of UWr is the percentage of students coming on international exchanges (174th in Europe).

This is the second time that Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has produced a regional ranking comparing European universities from countries that are members of the Council of Europe. The methodology of the ranking places particular emphasis on international exchange and internationalisation, as these are key to building the ethos of Europe.
In the QS Europe University Rankings, the most important indicator, with a weight of up to 30%, is the university’s recognition among the academic staff (Academic Reputation). The ranking also takes into account the university’s reputation among employers (Employer Reputation) – with a weight of 15%. Other significant indicators, each with a weight of 10%, include the average number of citations of scientific publications (Citations per Paper) and international research collaboration (International Research Network).”
