University of Wrocław in the Top Marka 2022 ranking

University of Wrocław advanced to the 4th rank among universities in the Top Marka 2022 media ranking, placed just below the University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University and Warsaw School of Economics. It proves that the UWr is seen as prestigious, and the achievements of our staff and students are noticed and appreciated.

The Top Marka ranking has been organized for the past 15 years by “Press” magazine and “PRESS-SERVICE Monitoring Mediów [Media Monitoring]” agency. It’s the biggest assessment on the Polish market, encompassing 500 brands with the strongest media influence in 50 fields. Material from traditional media, social media and the internet published between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022 is analyzed except for promotional and advertisement material. This year, the assessment encompassed over 70 million mentions.

The amount of media reports is not the only nor most important criterion considered by the ranking analytics. Impact, based on data about reach and recipient behavior,is the measure which decides about the strength of media influence. Presence in media with big reach is rewarded particularly well. An important aspect of the assessment is the “sentiment measure”, which concerns if the published information resonated positively or negatively with the recipients.

University of Wrocław owes its place in the top 5 not only to the amount of media mentions. To rank in this group together with other prestigious universities like the University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University and Warsaw School of Economics speaks about how we are perceived by the media and social environment as a university that matters. It’s an achievement of all the members of our community, and of the many students and researchers who share their passion for science with the world. It’s our collective success, which was even noticed by the magazines in the field. Articles about the ranking have appeared in “Perspektywy” and “Forum Akademickie” magazines.
