What do you ask at the beginning of recruitment?

The first day of registration in the Online Candidate System (www.irka.uni.wroc.pl) is behind us! Your questions have been flowing into our Teaching Department and social media. Today we want to answer some of them for you, the ones that come up most often.

Why my photo hasn’t yet been accepted in the IRK system?

When registering in the Online Candidate Registration System IRK, it is necessary to upload a digital photo for your student ID card into the system. This is the photo that will also be on the application form, which candidates will print out from the system and later, if they are qualified to submit documents, bring it along with other documents to the Faculty Recruitment Committees. The photograph should be the same as for an identity card (the exact dimensions of the photograph and other requirements are described both at www.rekrutacja.uni.wroc.pl and in the candidate’s account in the IRK system). The photo must later be accepted by employees of our Teaching Department – this happens on a regular basis, but if the queue of photos for acceptance is long, please bear in mind that such acceptance may take several working days. Please note that the photo only goes to acceptance once the candidate has selected the fields of study for which he/she wishes to recruit.

Can I register for studies without secondary school leaving certificate results?

Recruitment began on 3 June and is open to all types of studies – first-cycle, second-cycle, long-cycle, postgraduate, full-time, part-time. If you are this year’s secondary school graduates, you can also already set up an account in the IRK system and choose the fields of study you wish to recruit for. You do not yet have your school-leaving examinations results, so you only need to mark the subjects you passed in secondary school (all subjects, not just those which are taken into consideration for the given field(s) of study). It is necessary to mark your school-leaving examinations in order to proceed with the registration process. Once you have received your school-leaving examinations results, return to the IRK system and enter your results. You have time to do so until the last day of registration in the IRK system (check the timetable on the recruitment website, but for full-time first-cycle and long-cycle studies, the deadline is 11 July. Your school-leaving results this year will be announced on 9 July, so you will only have 3 days to enter your results!

I go into IRK and I don’t see all the fields of study. What happens in this case?

If you have logged into the IRK system and do not see a full list of fields of study, this may mean that you haven’t selected the correct selection. In the first stage of registration, you should indicate that you want to participate in recruitment for first-cycle, second-cycle and long-cycle studies or, for example, post-graduate studies. If you still see the list of courses incorrectly, we recommend you try in a different browser, and sometimes ‘clearing cookies’ also helps. Please note that it is best to register for the IRK system via computer. The system may not be fully readable on mobile devices e.g. mobile phones.

Where can I ask questions about recruitment? The best way is to contact our Teaching Department rekrutacja@uwr.edu.pl, 71 375 22 37, or via IRK. You can also ask on our social media – we recommend instastories!
