Women & Girls in Science Challenge

The Department of Strategic Communications and Countering International Disinformation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland informs about a competition announced by the NATO Science and Technology Organization (the Women & Girls in Science Challenge, WGS2026).

Female students or graduates in the fields of science, technology and engineering, aged 18–35, who are citizens of NATO member states, may submit short essays in English by 11 March 2026, addressing one of the five scenarios presented in the announcement on the website. The submission should answer the question: how could your research idea solve the problem described in one of the fictional event scenarios?

Twelve finalists will present their concepts during a ceremony at NATO Headquarters on 9 June 2026.

The website includes, among other things, the following information:

– descriptions of the scenarios forming the basis for the competition entries
– a link to the submission form
– guidelines for preparing the competition entry
– the competition timetable
– answers to frequently asked questions

If additional information is required, enquiries may be sent directly to the organisers at: mbx.sto@hq.nato.int.

he Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland does not act as an intermediary in submitting entries or in contacts with the competition organisers.
