
World Conference on Physical Education
The fourth World Conference on Physics Education was held at the Jagiellonian University in August. One of the organisers of the event was the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Wrocław.
During the conference, participants from 46 countries shared the results of teaching research and insights into physics teaching and learning methods, the effects of project activities and joint teaching initiatives. Presentations took the form of plenary lectures, short speeches, workshops, symposia and posters.
The event was global in scope and provided an opportunity to share experiences between practitioners, including university and school teachers. It contributed to the populariszation of the subject of physical education in its broadest sense, as well as educational research methods and tools. The organisers made efforts to ensure that a large group of school teachers primarily from Poland participated.
The conference was also part of the university’s strategy to support the improvement of the teaching competence of staff.
The conference was held under the patronage of His Magnificence Rector of the University of Wrocław, as well as the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Minister of National Education, His Magnificence Rector of the Jagiellonian University, the Mayor of the City of Kraków, the Polish Physical Society, the Kraków Branch of the Polish Physical Society.
