World Mental Health Day
10 October is World Mental Health Day. Mental health promotion at the University of Wrocław is an educational activity aimed at strengthening mental health, the processes that support the maintenance of good health and the creation of conditions conducive to health. It is also a process that enables people to increase control over their own health and to improve it, to actively improve their health, and not just to defend themselves against illness or disorder. These activities are aimed at the whole community, not just at those individuals who have been observed to have mental health problems. The maintenance of mental health is fostered by developed protective factors and immune processes that reduce the destructive impact of risk factors, psychological crises, traumatic situations and events. Developing positive motivation or the ability to cope with emotions, stress, aggression strengthen the individual’s strengths and adapt to difficult situations and challenges.
We encourage the academic community to take a look at the Guide, which provides recommendations on how to deal with and support a mental health crisis. In the collection of information we present, we treat mental health not only in terms of risks or disorders, but primarily talk about resilience resources, active forms of coping with mental health problems and the use of professional support.
For the comfort of studies and work of the entire University of Wrocław community, we bring you information on mental health – what it is worth and how to protect it. All materials are available on the website.
The University of Wrocław established the Psychological Support Team. The tasks of this team are carried out in the form of individual consultations, for which registration is required. Registration for an appointment with a psychologist takes place electronically via email poradnia.psychologiczna@uwr.edu.pl sent exclusively from the @uwr.edu.pl domain.
