Wrocław’s beginning of a journey to Nobel prizes

It has begun! Machine took off … already left the station … wheel spinning after the wheel – not rushing on the tracks yet but on right tracks it happens to be. TUTORING just started taking place at the University of Wrocław.

Project under the name of tutoring has been already initiated at the University of Wrocław a few years ago. It has been an essential rule of functioning conducted interdisciplinary studies in first-cycle and second-cycle studies by College for Interdisciplinary Studies since 2004.

Since then, over 120 tutors – professors and adjuncts from Academy – cooperated with College.

Upon the initiative of the Director of the College, prof. P. Chruszczewski, the School of Academic Tutors developed which II edition set about on 25th of November 2023.

Two months ago, first open University Tutoring Congress was organized in which primary and secondary school teachers, students of the University of Wrocław as well as academics and researchers from eight Faculties of the University of Wrocław took part in it.

Works at implementing tutoring as an additional didactic method at the University of Wrocław started few years ago in Collegial Committee for Quality in Education of the University of Wrocław.Particular effects could be seen not until 2023. On 14th of April 2023, the Ordinance no. 93/2023 of the Rector of the University of Wrocław relevant to conducting classes in a form of tutoring was published.

Since then, works kicked into gear and other Faculties of the University of Wrocław are joining with specific documents and measures:

How to train a Noblist? Just like prof. Kenneth J. Arrow proposed – prepare appropriate conditions to allow development (see Chruszczewski 2021). Everything indicates that in University of Wrocław these conditions are formally developing!
