We invite you to a discussion about the book “Jowita zostaje. Historia 10 dni ruchu studenckiego”. The topic of how studies can be accessible to everyone will also be discussed.
The student occupation of the Poznań Dormitory “Jowita” in December 2023 holds great historical significance. It was not just a successful defense against privatization but also a demonstration of the tremendous power of student solidarity. This event became another cornerstone in the fight for universities as a common good. The purpose of the book dedicated to those events is not only to be a testimony but also to be a call to action and a collection of materials that will help the resurging student movement fight for their rights.
After the panel, there will be an open discussion.
Free copies of the book „Jowita zostaje. Historia 10 dni ruchu studenckiego” will be available on-site. (prepared by Magdalena Kalbarczyk, Adam Ochwat, Szymon Radomski, Krystian Szadkowski, Jakub Straszewski, Aleksandra Taran, Gabriela Wilczyńska; Wydawnictwo Ekonomiczne “Heterodox”, Poznań 2024). If you want to read the book beforehand, you can access the free electronic version at this link, where you can find additional information about the book.
