As part of two complementary nationwide projects, the Centre for Security Studies and Education of the University of Wrocław (CSSE UoW) and the Terrorism Prevention Centre of Excellence of the Internal Security Agency (TPCE ISA) are organising two information and training expert conferences on security. The meetings will be held for the management and teaching staff of the Polish education system in the Lower Silesian district of the Board of Education in Wrocław, as well as the management staff and employees of the Voivodeship Office in cooperation with the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office in Wrocław. The first expert conference will take place on 7 December 2022 as part of the first project, “Security is paramount – Polish education system”, and the second on 8 December 2022 as part of the second project, “Security is paramount – Polish public administration”.
The projects are expected to be carried out in all districts of Poland. Their aim is to support the efforts of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of the Interior and Administration to improve the security skills of employees of key institutions of the education system and public administration.
This is particularly important at this time. The initiative is a cooperation between the academic university (CSSE UoW) as part of the pursuit of the university’s third mission in terms of security education, and the government institution (TPCE ISA) dedicated to promoting good prevention and education practices relating to security. In the near future, we plan to organise information and training expert conferences in the Silesian and the Świętokrzyskie district as part of the two projects. The first stage of the projects is currently being carried out in two areas: (1) information and education, as well as workshops and training; (2) research and implementation in cooperation with the Department of the Sociology of Security and Education of the Institute of Sociology of the University of Wrocław.
The conference on 7 December will be opened by the Education Superintendent in Wrocław and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wrocław, and the Governor of Lower Silesia will open the conference on 8 December. The introduction to the project will be presented by prof. dr hab. Barbara Wiśniewska-Paź (director of CSSE UoW), as well as col. Grzegorz Grzegorski (director of TPCE ISA) and lt. col. Maciej Daniluk (Head of the First Department of TPCE ISA). The training part will be conducted by two TPCE ISA instructors: lt. col. Artur Sybicki and lt. col. Marek Kuźnicki. Conference programmes can be found below.
