The competition is about presenting an innovative idea/technology/scientific work/business that somehow leads to a breakthrough in its field. For this reason, each presentation must be entitled ‘Breaking the wall of (name of field/problem)’. Each participant has exactly three minutes to present their proposal, which is the main challenge of the competition. A panel made up of representatives of the units organising the event evaluates the speeches. The winner of an edition gets the opportunity to present his or her idea at the international Falling Walls Berlin conference, where the prize in turn is funding for the presented project.
