On December 7-9, 2022, the Conference „Doświadczenie mistyczne w kulturze i nauce” (‘Mystical experience in culture and academia’) will be held at the University of Wrocław, organised by the Institute of Romance Studies, under the honorary patronage of the His Magnificence Rector of the University of Wrocław, as well as the Wrocław Academic Centre.
On December 7-9, 2022, the Doświadczenie mistyczne w kulturze i nauce” (‘Mystical experience in culture and academia’) will be held at the University of Wrocław, organised by the Institute of Romance Studies, under the honorary patronage of the His Magnificence Rector of the University of Wrocław, as well as the Wrocław Academic Centre.
The event’s partner is the Edith Stein Society because the subject of the Conference fits in with the celebration of the Year of Edith Stein in Wrocław. About 50 specialists dealing with issues related to mysticism in literature, art, philosophy, theology and psychology will gather at the Conference. Speeches will be delivered in Polish, English, Spanish, French and Italian. Plenary lectures will be presented by: Agata Bielik Robson (Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, University of Nottingham), Marzena Jakubczak (Pedagogical University of Krakow), Sonia Maura Barillari (Università di Genova), Lydie PARISSE (Université de Toulouse 2), Francisco Javier Sancho Fermín, OCD (Centro Internacional Teresiano-Sanjuanista, Ávila), Zofia Zarębianka (Jagiellonian University, Kraków).
On December 8, the organisers of the Conference invite you to Alina Błońska’s concert ‘Wołanie w ciszę’, organised by the University of Wrocław and the ‘Zajezdnia’ History Center under the honorary patronage of the His Magnificence Rector of the University of Wrocław
(https://www.zajezdnia.org/kalendarz/681). Alina Błońska is an internationally recognised, award-winning composer of contemporary classical music. In her works, she often alludes to Spanish mysticism.
Students of Spanish Studies actively participated in the preparation of the concert as part of the ‘Laboratorium tekstów kultury’ ‘course, coordinated by dr hab. Marlena Krupa-Adamczyk and a special guest – Alina Błońska, who is also a graduate of Spanish Studies at the University of Wrocław. Admission to the concert is free, but registration is required via rokedytystein@zajezdnia.org. Additional events at the Conference will include: a special screening of Łukasz Chwałka’s film ‘Jakob Böhme – życie i twórczość’; a meeting with photographer Andrzej Ziółkowski and a discussion panel ‘Mystical experience and artist’s experience’, which will be led by Marcin Kurek and his guests will be: Alina Błońska, Andrzej Ziółkowski and Bogusław Kierc.
