We would like to invite you to a lecture by dr hab. Antonina Mazur from the Faculty of Biotechnology, University of Wrocław, who will give a lecture in English on:

Melanoma – a tumor originating from emancipated neural cells

Melanoma is a dangerous malignancy with one of the highest death rates among all skin tumors. However, from where does it come? Does melanoma occur only in the skin? Can we effectively treat it? How do scientists reveal processes driving melanomagenesis? Intriguing facts about melanoma development and its biology will be elaborated on during the lecture. Moreover, an issue of modern therapeutic approaches will be addressed and how melanoma cells become resistant to that. Finally, the latest sophisticated methods used in research on melanoma biology will be presented. The lecture will be conducted in an accessible way that is understandable to the general public.
