We would like to invite you to a lecture by dr Katarzyna Lisowska on „Retoryka przemocy seksualnej w literaturze – wstępne rozpoznania”. The meeting will take place on 22 April at 6 p.m. in room 141 at the Institute of Polish Studies of the University of Wrocław.
Lecture description:
In this lecture I will consider what it means to study the rhetoric of sexual violence in literature. What challenges does one face when undertaking this task? How to combine non-literary approaches with a reading of artistic texts? What relevance does the gender of the author/author have in this context? What is the role of speaking/writing about sexual violence and what is the role of keeping silent about it?
These are examples of questions that will arise during the meeting and which I will try to answer. We are planning a discussion after the paper, but you are also welcome to comment on the lecture as it happens.
