Tajemnice Ziemi i Wszechświata – lecture

Date:

25 October 2024, 15:00 - 17:00

Place:

Institute of Geological Sciences of the University of Wrocław and online

Perhaps the greatest mystery of all – where did we come from, why did we come into existence and were there any mysterious or perhaps supernatural forces involved in our creation? Why did we manage to dominate all animals in the distant past, even though many of them were much bigger, faster and more dangerous than us? Did we have similar close relatives and, if so, why did they become extinct while we triumphantly survived all manner of catastrophes and collapses? What do we have in common with the Neanderthals who lived until quite recently in the Ice Age?

Answers to these questions and many more will be addressed in an open lecture in the series ‘Tajemnice Ziemi i Wszechświata’ on Friday, 25 October 2024 at 3 p.m. in the Institute of Geological Sciences (Pl. Maksa Borna 9), room 220 or online.

Larger groups are requested to register their participation at least one week before the lecture to the coordinator at elzbieta.slodczyk@uwr.edu.pl.
