The 7th International Lithuania Congress will be held at the University of Wrocław on 27-28 May. This unique event dedicated to Lithuania, its language, culture, history and relations with Poland and other neighbours, will provide an opportunity for deep discussion and reflection.
This year we are celebrating several important anniversaries for Lithuania, such as the 20th anniversary of its accession to the European Union and NATO and the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendly Relations with Poland. In addition, we want to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Immanuel Kant’s birth and the 100th anniversary of the Festival of Songs (Dainų šventė), an important part of Lithuania’s cultural heritage.
The Congress is not only a place for the exchange of scientific insights, but also a platform for building bridges between cultures and peoples. We encourage scholars, social activists and all interested parties to take part in our diverse programme of conference sections and expert debates.
A number of interesting events are planned during the rich cultural programme of the 7th International Lithuania Congress. One of them will be the opening of Marius Jonutis’ exhibition “FRASZKI/NIEKAI”, which will be an opportunity to see illustrations to the Lithuanian edition of Jan Kochanowski’s “Fraszki”. In addition, congress participants will also be treated to a concert by the Trys keturiõse vocal group, which will perform traditional sutartine songs.
The organisers warmly invite you to register your participation by 15 April. More information and a form for active and passive participants is available at: https://labaswroclaw.wordpress.com/.
