XXVIII edition of the Jan Józef Lipski Master Thesis Competition

Open Republic Association announces the XXVIII edition of the Jan Józef Lipski Master Thesis Competition.

The aim of the contest is to select the best master’s thesis in the areas of humanities and social sciences concerning the events taking place from the XIX century until the present day, on the subjects close to the research interests and social activity of the Patron of the competition. Those subjects are, in particular:

– history and theory of literature;

– understanding of modern culture;

– Varsaviana;

– recent history;

– society and politics, discrimination and tolerance and cultural, psychological and linguistic aspects of stereotypes.

Supervisors, reviewers and authors are allowed to submit the works for the contest only if they receive the reviewer’s or supervisor’s approval. Eligible for the contest are theses defended in 2022 which received at least a “good” grade.

The submission for the contest should include:

– one copy of the master’s thesis printed duplex in A4 format, written in any font not smaller than 10 point size, in paperback (bound or spiral);

– one copy of the printed synopsis of the thesis (1800 characters with space, i.e. one page of normalized typescript), which specifies the aim of the thesis, its main points and general conclusion;

– one copy of the master thesis and synopsis in electronic format;

– a brief opinion of a supervisor or reviewer on the submitted master’s thesis;

– details of the author allowing to contact him;

– a completed submission form;

– statement issued by the University authorities informing about the defense date, subject of the thesis and the name and address of the University issuing the statement;

– all of the aforementioned documents written onto a CD disk
