Design your career: new extra-curricular course

This year, the Academic Careers Office is launching another extra-curricular course entitled Design Your Career.

During 10 meetings with labour market specialists, we will discuss the most important elements influencing our functioning on the labour market.

We will look at the factors that shape the contemporary labour market, including the employer’s perspective. Who is this mysterious “employer”? What drives their actions/decisions? What responsibilities and pressures do they face and how do they affect their relationship with the employee?

Using concrete examples, we will see why it is nowadays impossible to stop developing and which competences the modern labour market values most highly. We will give effective and proven ways to build key competences during your studies.

We will analyse the recruitment process in detail from the company’s perspective and show according to which criteria the candidate is assessed. We will talk about employee rights and consider whether junk contracts are always fit for the bin?

We will broaden our horizons, remove boundaries in thinking about career and professional opportunities, and learn how to promote our brand on social media.

We will also take care of wellbeing and wellbeing by learning to accept (!) stress and manage our emotions gently.
