University of Wrocław awarded PLN 10 million by the Prime Minister
Additional funds are necessary for the renovation of the Institute of History.
At the request of the Rector of the University of Wrocław, prof. Robert Olkiewicz, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has decided to donate treasury securities of a total nominal value of PLN 10 million to increase the share capital of the University. The funds will be used to complete the renovation of the building of the Institute of History. During its renovation work, fragments of a medieval façade and Baroque frescoes were discovered, substantially increasing the cost of the renovation.
“It’s not every day a university is awarded PLN 10 million”, says prof. Olkiewicz. “This is important news. The discovery of the frescoes rendered the budget set for the renovation insufficient. Thanks to the treasury bonds donated by the Prime Minister, we are able to take proper care of our historical heritage and the historic interiors of the University.”
