International cooperation programmes for students and staff
Our university is the only one in Poland belonging to the worldwide exchange network International Students Exchange Program (ISEP), in which participate 250 universities from all over the world, including 132 from the USA. As part of ISEP, UWr students can spend a semester of study at an American university. More information about the ISEP programme.
In addition to university-wide agreements, there are bilateral agreements within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, according to which student and doctoral student mobilities for studies and work placements are organised, as well as teaching trips for teaching staff and training trips for administrative staff. Details: Information about the Erasmus+ programme
Each year, around 500 students benefit from this programme, choosing from over 800 European universities with which the University of Wrocław has agreements. Participation in the programme is considered an integral part of studies. It is possible to apply for a mobility grant already after completing the first year of studies.

In addition, students and doctoral candidates at our university have the opportunity to take advantage of other exchange programmes, including DAAD, GFPS, CEEPUS, government scholarships, Visegrad scholarships, and exchanges under 135 bilateral agreements with universities from different parts of our globe. Thanks to them, they can spend an entire semester or an entire academic year at a foreign university or do a research internship at any institution abroad. This period is counted as part of their study time
Joint master’s and doctoral programmes with foreign universities
The University of Wrocław participates in joint master’s degree programmes conducted in English as part of the European Erasmus Mundus programme. By taking part in these studies, a student has the chance to obtain at least two degrees from universities belonging to three consortia – European Master Global Studies (EMGS), MITRA (Mediation interculturelle: identities, mobilities, conflits) and Children’s Literature, Media & Culture European Master Global Studies (CLMC).
In addition to the Erasmus Mundus programme, UWr has double degree agreements with several European universities. Double Degree programmes are offered at the Faculty of Chemistry (agreement with the Italian University of Sassari) and the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Double Degree programme can be pursued by students of international relations. In addition to the UWr diploma, they have the possibility of obtaining a diploma from the University of Padua or the University of Bochum (Germany). The Institute of Political Sciences, meanwhile, pursues a Double Degree programme with the Georgian Institue of Public Affairs from Tbilisi. Two degrees can also be obtained by doctoral candidates of the Doctoral College of Philosophy – an agreement with the University of Ostrava.
Detailed information on mobility programmes and joint study programmes can be found on the website of the International Office.
