Projekt PROT-TOWING z finansowaniem Funduszy Europejskich dla Nowoczesnej Gospodarki

The Foundation for Polish Science has announced the results of the 1/2024 call for proposals under the FIRST TEAM activity funded by the National Centre for Research and Development. A total of 174 projects were submitted for the call, and funding (amounting to nearly PLN 71 million) was awarded to 18 projects. Among them is “PROT-TOWING: opracowanie innowacyjnej technologii molekularnego holowania do selektywnej inaktywacji chorobotwórczych białek (eng. PROT-TOWING: Development of Innovative Molecular Tugging Technology for Selective Inactivation of Pathogenic Proteins)”, a project led by prof. Łukasz Opaliński from the Faculty of Biotechnology. Lecture, debate and workshops with Prof. Luis Alonso

The Institute of Sociology at the University of Wrocław is pleased to invite you to a lecture, roundtable discussion, and workshops with Professor Luis Alonso, who will visit the University from 21 to 24 May.
Luis Alonso is a researcher at the City Science Group and the project lead of the Andorra Living Lab at the MIT Media Lab. Holding a PhD in architecture, he coordinates urban innovation initiatives within the City Science Network, integrating energy modelling, urban simulation, mobility, innovation districts, and smart housing to develop human-scale ecosystems.

Witold Płecha is a laureate of the Polish Mathematical Society competition

As was the case last year, our student was among the winners of the Polish Mathematical Society’s competition for the best student paper on the theory of probability and applications of mathematics. The results of the LVIII edition of this competition were announced on 19 February. This time, among the winners was our graduate, Witold Płecha, whose master’s thesis entitled ‘Some Limit Theorems for Random Randomness. ‘Some Limit Theorems for Random Weighted n-partite Complete Graphs’, written under the supervision of dr Piotr Dyszewski (UWr Mathematical Institute), took second place.
