Dr Wojciech Wiertelak from the Faculty of Biotechnology has received a research grant entitled ‘Wpływ terapii galaktozą na transkryptom komórek ludzkich’. Five of our young scientists were included in the next NCN Miniatura grant.

We are deeply saddened to announce that Krzysztof Burski, a long-time employee of the University Library in Wrocław, passed away from us on 29 September 2024 at the age of 91.

We were saddened to learn that prof. Ryszard Herbut, an eminent political scientist, long-standing employee of the Institute of Political Science at the University of Wrocław and its director, passed away on 2 October 2024. On behalf of the dean’s authorities and the staff of the Faculty of Social Sciences, we extend our condolences to his family and loved ones.

We would like to inform you that recruitment is underway for the Scientific Association “Labas” and the Centre for Lithuanian Language and Culture at the University of Wrocław. Biotechnologists from the University of Wrocław along with researchers from the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences and the Wrocław University of Science and Technology have brewed some beer… for scientific purposes, of course.

On 1 October 2024, the solemn “Gaude Mater Polonia” sounded once again in the Aula Leopoldina, and its baroque interior was filled with the rectors of Wrocław universities, employees, doctoral students and students of the University of
Wrocław, as well as distinguished guests.

The Rectors of Wrocław public universities are honoured to invite to the Inauguration of the Academic Year 2024/2025 of Wrocław Universities. The inaugural speech will be delivered by prof. dr hab. Robert Olkiewicz, Chairman of the Collegium of Rectors of Wrocław and Opole Universities.

The Rector and the Senate of the University of Wrocław would like to invite to the Inauguration of the Academic Year 2024/2025 on 1 October, which will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Aula Leopoldina, pl. Uniwersytecki 1 (main building).

On 26 September, the International Office of the University of Wrocław organised Orientation Days and a Welcome Ceremony for all international students coming to study at our university.
