    We announce with deep sadness that prof. dr hab. Gerard Koziełek (in fact, Gerhard Kosellek), born in Racibórz (Ratbior) on 5 March 1928, passed away on 24 May 2024 in Krefeld, in the age of 96.

    European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) chose 60 new Actions, which will be granted with a four-year funding for creating and managing international research networks. Among chosen projects there is only one Action from Poland, submitted by prof. Michał Jacuński from the Institute of Political Science, University of Wrocław.

    The fourth edition of the international conference of young researchers BEYOND LANGUAGE 2024 is already a thing of the past. This year, speakers from Israel, Romania, Ukraine, Dresden, Ireland, Wrocław, Poznań, Kraków, Olsztyn, Gdańsk and Warsaw met for four days in May at the Jagiellonian University (UJ), the University of Wrocław (UWr), Adam Mickiewicz University (UAM) and online to discuss, among other things: humor, Chinese novels, Georgian verbs, Dongba symbols, the language of poetry, the etymology of words, map grammar, mythical heroes, Homeric comparisons, syncretic cultural forms, interference of worlds and melic translation.

    Summary of the fourth edition of the International BEYOND LANGUAGE 2024 Conference

    On Saturday 25 May, the final round of Potyczki Algorytmiczne 2024, the largest and most important nationwide individual programming competition, ended in Zielona Góra. The winner was our student Łukasz Pluta!
