On 14 April 2026, a meeting of the Committee responsible for adjudicating the competition for funding of Teaching Laboratories at the University of Wrocław was held.

On behalf of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, prof. Marek Konarzewski, we inform that the Presidium of the PAS, at its meeting on February 17, 2026, adopted a resolution No. 10/2026 concerning the election of new members to the Polish Young Academy.

Appeal of the Women in Tertiary Education and Science Council [pl. Rada ds. Kobiet w Szkolnictwie Wyższym i Nauce] for academia with reference to recommendations for advisory organs in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

A new tab titled “Nagrody naukowe i konkursy” has been launched in the “Badania” section of the University of Wrocław’s main website. This space will be regularly updated with information about upcoming academic conferences, internships, research scholarships, and other opportunities for academic and professional development, as well as competitions for the best doctoral thesis.

Due to the suspension of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education funding under the Cambridge University Press consortium licence implemented by Faculty of Biological Sciences of the University of Wrocław has signed an individual agreement for access to the Cambridge University Press electronic journal collection (CUP) with the option to publish in OA. The programme is intended for correspondence authors affiliated with the University of Wrocław.

The University of Wrocław has gained access to the interdisciplinary international database Statista. The database can be used by staff and doctoral students as well as students.

The Council was headed by University of Wrocław researcher prof. dr hab. Anna Pacześniak from the Institute of European Studies and also included the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, dr hab. Patrycja Matusz, prof. UWr.

The results of evaluation based on the current principles will not reflect the actual state of science in Poland – assessed the members of the Conference of Rectors of Universities in Poland (KRUP) in their position paper adopted two days ago. This is another voice of the academic community on the current evaluation of scientific activity.

This year’s ceremonial open meeting of the College of Rectors of Wrocław and Opole Universities took place, as is tradition, on November 15 in the Aula Leopoldina of the University of Wrocław.

Elections to the UWr Student Self-Government’s statutory bodies – the Student Parliament, the Faculty Student Self-Government Council and department heads – are approaching.
