Heart with Ukraine – 19th Slavic Song Competition

The 19th special edition of the Slavic Song Competition will take place on 23 May, after a three-year break due to a pandemic. During the concert “With heart with Ukraine” students, lecturers and invited guests will sing the most beautiful Ukrainian songs. Students from Polish studies, musicology, biotechnology, journalism, Russian studies, national security, Croatian studies, administration, digital and web publishing qualified for the final…

The singers will present us with songs both well-known and less well-known, at least to the Polish audience. From the most popular ones we will hear “Dumka Bohuna”,”Bandura” and “Dumka na dwa serca”. We will also hear two Polish works that uniquely correspond with this year’s edition. Lyrical songs predominate, although there will be surprises.

The organisers have prepared an impressive pool of prizes, but it should be remembered that for several years now, the sponsors-funders of the prizes themselves, independently of the official jury, have been awarding their prizes to performers who move them, make them laugh, or impress them with the scale of their voice. In theory, one performer can win multiple prizes from the entire pool. The jurors award only the main prizes, the honorable mentions are awarded by the sponsors-funders of the prizes.
