Pay rise

On October 7, 2022, the University of Wrocław’s authorities reached an agreement regarding the pay rise related to the Ministry of Education and Science’s additional subsidy of 2022 (PLN 4 173 400 to rise gross pay and its related items) with representatives of four out of five trade union bodies operating in UWr.

The stance taken by the rector of UWr, prof. Robert Olkiewicz, regarding an even distribution of the sum to the employees hired on a full-time basis, was concurrent with the common stance of the four trade union bodies – the Independent and Self-Governing Trade Union ‘Solidarność’, Związek Zawodowy Pracowników Administracji i Bibliotek [Trade Union for Administration and Library Workers], Polish Teachers’ Union, and Związek Zawodowy Nauczycieli Akademickich [Trade Union for Academic Teachers]. Workers’ Initiative submitted an independent proposal.

According to the agreed-upon rules, the base pay rise will be of a quota nature and will total PLN 230 for academic teachers working full-time, and PLN 193 for employees who are not academic teachers, but are still working full-time.

The pay rise will go into effect on October 1, 2022.

The rise applies to the UWr employees hired on October 7, 2022, whose pay is funded through the subsidy for maintaining and developing the educational potential and research potential.

Employees working part-time will receive a pay rise proportionate to their current pay. The proportional rise applies to each of the pay components whose basis for the calculation constitutes the base pay, including job seniority, statutory bonus, jubilee award, shift bonus, and night shift allowance.
