Volume III – Systems in nature, art and humanities
On 18 March 1993, the interdisciplinary seminar devoted to Systems, nature, art, and humanities began its activity. The seminar was operating in the second semester of the academic year 1992/1993.
According to the research interests of the seminar participants, the need for a new cognitive tool emerged, which is why systems theory was proposed. The research on the functioning of systems theory arose directly from the research on symmetry and together became a kind of experimentum crucis.
The first part of the research was to test if the systems theory may work in the 21st century in the areas of social sciences: philosophy, sociology, political science, and cultural studies.
The papers were presented chronologically: methodological papers, papers devoted to the functioning of systems theory in particular humanistic disciplines, and finally, papers presenting the application of systems theory in solving more specific problems.
