Volume X – On nature and culture
The volume includes the lectures and introductions to discussions presented at the Studium Generale Interdisciplinary Seminar at the University of Wrocław in the academic year 2004/2005.
The seminar materials are divided into two sections: 1. On culture (12 lectures), and 2. On nature (9 lectures).
The book also contains the Chronicle of the Studium Generale Interdisciplinary Seminar for the years 1991-2005. The paper by Professor Janina Gajda-Krynicka describes the first period of the Studium Generale from a historical and philosophical point of view. The paper shows the origin of the institution Studium Generale, which lay in the ancient scientific schools and constituted the foundations of the first European universities.
